Dr. David Vickar MD, FRCPC, FACR, FCAR
Dr. Vickar has been a radiologist in an academic teaching hospital in Alberta for over 30 years. He is a subspecialist who has worked almost exclusively in Diagnostic Ultrasound for his entire career. As a teacher, he has spawned many radiology graduates over the years, many who work throughout Alberta today. Dr. Vickar is a past president of both the Alberta Society of Radiologists and the Canadian Association of Radiologists. He is also a former Physician Advisor for the Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers which has since evolved to become Sonography Canada. For his work in advancing the specialty of Radiology, Dr. Vickar has been bestowed a Fellowship status by the American College of Radiology and the Canadian Association of Radiologists. He is delighted to now bring his years of experience to Advocate Medical Imaging in Lethbridge Alberta.
Dr. Bill Parker
Dr Parker has been practicing Diagnostic Radiology with a special interest in Ultrasound and Interventional Ultrasound for 30 years. He has held an academic teaching position (Assistant Professor) at the University of Manitoba and the University of Alberta for a combined total of close to 25 years. Dr. Parker has also been active in teaching both radiology residents and ultrasound technologists. At Advocate Medical Imaging, Dr Parker enjoys working with the staff and interacting with patients.
Dr. Patrick Lawrence
Dr Patrick Lawrence graduated from Radiology is 1995 from the University of Manitoba with an extensive fellowship in pediatric ultrasound. He was the Radiology Representative on the St. Boniface Hospital Standards and Audit Committee from 1998-2000. He was the Chair WRHA Standard committee from 2000-2003. Dr Lawrence was granted Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as well as American Board of Radiology Certification in Diagnostic Radiology. For over 30 years Dr Lawrence has enjoyed working in the field of Diagnostic Ultrasound. He has worked in both a teaching hospital in Manitoba and hospitals in British Columbia and has brought this experience to Advocate Medical Imaging since 2019. He enjoys using his knowledge and skills in diagnostic ultrasound to maximize the care for our patients and ensure the most concise diagnosis possible. When not at work, Dr Lawrence enjoys spending time with his family.
Dr. Ted Lyons
Dr. Lyons completed his under- and post-graduate medical education at the University of Manitoba in 1973. He was also the Professor and Chairman of the Department of Radiology at the University of Manitoba from 1990-1996, and continues his clinical and research work at the Health Science Center in Diagnostic Ultrasound. Dr. Lyons has written 45 articles, 34 chapters and 5 books, and given countless lectures around the world. He continues to serve on many editorial boards and acts as a reviewer for several journals.
In 2007, Dr. Lyons was appointed an Office of the Order of Canada (O.C.), one of the highest honors given to a Canadian by the Governor General of Canada. It recognizes a lifetime of achievement and merit of a high degree, especially in service to Canada.
Dr. Lyons began his work with Advocate Medical Imaging in July 2019, and is dedicated to the service of his patients in the Lethbridge area.
Eric Ogrins - Owner/Clinic Director/Ultrasound Technologist
Eric studied and graduated from Ultrasound in Ontario over 30 years ago. He has had the opportunity of serving the people of Lethbridge for over 20 years before opening Advocate Medical Imaging in 2019. Eric is married to the love of his life, Janice, and is blessed with 3 children and 6 wonderful grandchildren. When Eric is not busy being “Papa” you can usually find him at the golf course or watching Hurricane hockey.
Nicole M. - Front End Supervisor
Born and raised in Kingston, Ontario, Nicole relocated to Lethbridge in 2003. Shortly after completing her education in 2006, Nicole began working in the medical field. She was integral in opening Advocate Medical Imaging in 2019 as our Front End Supervisor. Outside of work, Nicole enjoys camping and skiing with her husband and 3 wonderful children.
Elise F. - Ultrasound Technologist
Elise studied Medical Imaging and graduated from SAIT in 2016 before immediately beginning her career in ultrasound. Elise is a proud dog mom and enjoys spending time outdoors with her fur baby and husband.
Samyra A. – Ultrasound Technologist
Samyra graduated from SAIT in 2010. She has been working as an ultrasound tech in the Southern Alberta region for over 11 years in both hospital and clinic settings.
Joanne B. - Administrative Assistant
Born in Calgary, Joanne moved to Lethbridge in 1976, where she spent the remainder of her childhood. She lived on a farm East of Picture Butte for 20 years before returning to education, where she earned a Diploma in Accounting and Medical Office Admin. After graduating, Joanne worked at Chinook Regional Hospital, before joining the Advocate team in 2019.
Karrie L. - Administrative Assistant
Born and raised in Lethbridge, Karrie graduated from the Medical Office Administration program at the Lethbridge College before beginning her career in the medical field. Karrie joined Advocate Medical Imaging in 2019 as an Administrative Assistant. Karrie is passionate about her personal relationships with her patients and loves working with her Advocate coworkers.
